3. This IS Good News, But Just To Point Out
First I want to say this IS good news!

But just to point out for anyone who isn't aware of the structure in the NY state court system, the Supreme Court in NY (unlike many states) isn't the highest level so this still has at least two appellate levels to go before it gets to the Court of Appeals which is New York's equivalent of what most states call their Supreme Court. So this isn't over yet.

Hopefully this decision will be upheld through appeal.

6. Well, yes--if the city appeals it.

They may not appeal it, in which case they'll have to start issuing marriage licenses.

5. Any chance of a constituional amendment?
I know that I look for the cloud in any silver lining...but they are definitely in vogue right now.
