DNC Chief of Staff Opposes Marriage Equality, Transcript Shows

A lawsuit brought by a gay former Democratic National Committee employee against Howard Dean, other individuals, and the DNC has taken a new twist with the revelation that, according to her deposition, the DNC’s chief of staff is opposed to marriage equality.

According to a transcript of her deposition in the lawsuit, the DNC’s chief of staff, Leah Daughtry, stated, "I believe, as the church believes, that marriage is intended for one man and one woman."

The document was obtained by The Washington Blade, which reported on the story on Jan. 30.

The Washington Blade further reported that despite her religious convictions, Daughtry said she had not counseled DNC chairman to take a stand against marriage equality.

We are nothing more than "guaranteed" votes to the Democratic Party; they don't have to do squat except perpetuate the "Who else are you going to vote for?" meme.

When will the GLBTQ community stop being such willing pawns in the hands of those who oppose our basic human rights?
