Gay man seeks to undermine Obama

A D.C. gay man is trying to rally voters against Sen. Barack Obama, seeking to damage the Democrat’s presidential campaign and punish the party for disenfranchising voters.

Will Bower, a Huffington Post columnist who lives in Washington, said he helped establish the grassroots group Party Unity, My Ass this month to connect voters who are angry that Obama is the Democratic presidential nominee.

“I feel that Barack Obama is an anti-democratically chosen candidate,” he said. “I think it’s the worst of the system that has put him at the top of the ticket.”

Obama crossed the Democratic Party’s revised, 2,118-delegate threshold June 3 to secure the nomination. At last count, Obama had won 2,201 delegates.

Bower, who strongly supported Sen. Hillary Clinton during the primary and remains a registered Democrat, said his organization joins a growing list of grassroots groups that are frustrated that the complex Democratic primary process did not better represent voters.

historically, would be a little more sensitive to the inequities suffered by other minorities. I believe this homophobic attitude is a commonplace in the black community ("homosexuality is a white thing; there are no black gays; blahblahblah"). How would Obama like it if GLBT people were to generally proclaim that blacks shouldn't have full equality with whites? It would certainly colour his opinion of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and the transgendered, and well it should.

We expect solidarity from other minority groups, and we feel betrayed when we don't receive it. It's almost as if they believe that a gay man is equal to three-fifths of a straight man.

When asked if he'd vote for Obama if Clinton was selected as VP, he said no. I think he has other issues myself.

Not "the worst of the system" at all, but a meaningful step outside the system while playing squarely within its rules.

This guy needs to get over his hissy fit pronto.

I'd be most interested in hearing how he is an anti-democratically chosen candidate. Hillary Clinton has moved on.. its time for her fans to do the same.

He needs to change his registration ASAP if he wants to vote for someone who wanted to amend the Arizona Constitution, opposes ENDA, supports DADT, and is sure to appoint right wing judges.

I have a feeling it's the latter though...
