1. Letter to Phelps:
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 01:41 AM by Lucky Luciano
Edited to say this was supposed to go to a thread about Phelps trying to get with H Dean in the DNC...I am a little confused...perhaps there is a little bug in DU today??

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!

Sincerely,
Dr Howard Dean

PS - BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

What a nut! I checked some other things he Phelps said. I did not realize that he made statements 100 times worse than Ward Churchill regarding 911. So there is a big to do over Churchill's statements, but nobody makes a big stink over Phelps praising god for the destruction of "fag New York's" twin towers and the 3000 fags that died in them. That guy is so crazy......he never catches shit from the Freepers for those extreme Ant-American views though. Why? Because he wants to kill "fags." Unreal.

2. Have you not seen Freds Christian Love website
www.godhatesfags.com

I think we will be seeing more of these kind of incidents as many on the religious right now think they have a green light, with Bush's moral madate and all, to clean up the country.

3. What I Want To Know Is....
How does Phelps know the sexual orientation of the 3000 who died that day? And what about all those wives who lost husbands...or husbands who lost wives?? I suppose those dead loved ones were "fags" too?

Jeebus, this guy is just out of control!!

5. Very scary
We really did assume it was a safe place. For North Carolina, Chappel Hill is a far left tolerant zone. This is very disturbing.

6. the troops have heard the messages and are acting on orders.
the ratcheting up of hate language directed towards gay folk is having the intended effect -- violence towards gay folk.
this is by design -- not accident.

gay folk can expect to see more of this -- since we seem to have entered a time when extreme language{and by extension, extreme actions} have become acceptable from the pope on down.

there's a good deal more to say about this of course -- but this just makes me really angry -- so i think i'll just go simmer for a while.

7. Unfortunately this is going on all over the country in supposedly safe
places. A man was just beaten unconscious in Santa Fe (which has a large gay population)...

Three men were arrested Sunday on charges they ganged up on a Santa Fe gay man and beat him into unconsciousness while yelling anti-gay vulgarities, according to court documents.

Gabriel Maturin, 20, and Isaia Medina, 19, each face charges of aggravated battery, conspiracy and battery. David Trinidad, 17, faces the same charges and an additional count of criminal damage to property. All three defendants are from Santa Fe.

James Maestas, 21, of Santa Fe remained hospitalized Monday. Hospital officials would not release Maestas' condition at the request of his family. The family also requested the name of the hospital not be released to the public, citing safety concerns. A second victim, Joshua Stockham, 24, of Albuquerque was hospitalized for minor injuries and released Sunday.

And wouldn't you know it they're already using the "gay panic" defense in their statement to police.

9. Oh yeah. . . the old gay panic defense. . .
that old "we have the right to kill anyone who looks at us THAT way". . .well, unless it's a lady wielding a bat at their own heads when they hit on her.

Always makes me wonder why straight men who can't seem to score with the opposite sex like to delude themselves that every gay man is just dreaming of spending time with them.

8. Another example
of the utter bravery and courage it takes for a gang of boys to beat up someone for no other reason than perceptions of the direction their peepee points. I hear stories like this all the time in my rural area. . .when the guys are in their "gang" they verbally bash gay citizens; when they are alone, they come calling after a couple of beers hoping for a BJ.

Yep - that's what I call a REAL man. Maybe if the courts would cut off their own peepees they wouldn't be a threat to anyone else or reproduce someone new to abuse.

10. Fred Phelps
This is the most evil fucking son of a bitch I have ever heard of. Devoting your entire existence to viciously attacking people who have never done a thing to you because of your obsession with a couple of vague sentences in a book that even some Christian denominations don't even believe in. This guy is not a Reverend, and he is not a Christian, he's a psychopath and Jesus would be ashamed of this man.

11. I agree Langley!
A loving, forgiving "God" Would never condone this outrageous behavior! I believe Jesus stated that "Those without sin, cast the first stone" This man has no right to be throwing stones at anyone for anything!
I hope that there is a hell and in that hell there is a special corner for Mr. Phleps where he can smell his skin cooking for all eternity!
