Police Shoot, Kill Man At San Diego Pride Event

San Diego, California) An investigation began Monday into the police shooting of a man they rescued when he went overboard during a gay pride related cruise in San Diego Harbor.

Harbor Police were notified by the operators of the charter boat that a man had gone overboard late Saturday night. The man, identified as 37-year-old Steven Paul Hirschfield of West Hollywood, was rescued but reportedly began fighting with officers.

Harbor Police Lt. Ken Franke told NBC San Diego that Hirshfield grabbed a Taser from one officer and struck him in the face. He then attempted to take the officer’s handgun Franke said

All officers are taught that if a suspect attempts to take his/her gun then it's life or death.

What if the taser that the suspect had grabbed had been the officers gun and he shot him in the face? Would we be talking about this?

This a man whose behavior was out of control and he turned on his rescuers.

For one thing, I knew a couple of bully-like kids growing up who later became police officers. I don't think that's a coincidence at all. And in the current political climate, it almost seems like open season on all U.S. citizens, or at least those who don't have the money to fight back.

them....however; if it were a 5'2 black female officer, a white 5'11 female officer or any male officer the minute a suspect goes for your gun the line has been crossed and the officers life is in danger. All bets are off and the officer will rely on training to save his/her life.

What really pissed me off about this? The family has already filed a $20 million lawsuit against the SDPD. Their lawyer is claiming this is a anti-gay killing and the department is anti-gay.

I'm sorry. But this lawyer sounds like a real asshole.

I got a speeding ticket here in Dallas last fall, and when the cop asked me three times if I knew what the speed limit was, after the first two incredulous "what?" on my part I finally got my smartass back on and said "well you're a cop. if you don't know the speed limit here you shouldn't be pulling people over and asking them."

So he pulled out his fucking taser and brandished it in my face like it was a second penis or something.

Freak.

Then he tried to say I was going 82 in a 60 (I was doing 65), so I asked to see the radar gun. He said he wasn't required to show me the radar gun, so I said fine I'll just have a mechanic bring the diags report into court, and mysteriously he discovered that he had "read the wrong target".

But the most disturbing part was that he had unsnapped the Taser and was holding it in his hand the entire time. If he had tried to touch me with that thing I probably would have tried to throw his ass into traffic.

They need to stop playing with their penis extenders when it's not warranted.

This has happened to me twice. Once was the morning after 9-11 in Dallas. I was going so slowly that the cop was actually able to jump out in front of me and wave his arms. I thought there was an emergency. Other cars were zooming past me. I was charged with going 35 in a school zone on Mockingbird. I was going under 20. Second time was in Waxahachie on 35. I was going about 65-70 (as I'm sure you know, the speed limit is 65-70 depending on the hour) and a cop pulled me over. Said I was going 85. My car was a 12 year old Buick. The speedometer maxed out at 85. The car would've been shaking uncontrollably. It was total bullshit.

it just happened to my girlfriend in Austin the other day. What exactly do we say to the cops? How does that work?
