Gay Politician Wins Restraining Order Against Homophobic Constituent

A man who constantly heckled a Welsh Member of Parliament about his sexuality has been ordered not to go near him or face jail. Paul Lewis Rees has been told to say more than 300 feet from Chris Bryant, the MP for Rhondda.

The court order, which will be in effect for the next two years, prevents Rees from making verbal attacks on Bryant�s sexuality. He also has been ordered to perform 220 hours of community service over the next year.

Bryant sought the restraining order after he became concerned about his personal safety after a barrage of attacks that began in April 2001 and became increasingly more vindictive.

This guy was encouraging violence from others with his foul remarks.
