Finding Joy... again :)
I got a new iPod and have fallen in love again with the music that saved my life...

It is so interesting how easily we forget about the songs that got us here... I'm not a follower, per se, but I am most certainly a gal with a soundtrack to life.

I'm all computer girl at work, but finally joined the f'cking rest of the world and got an iPod. I can't even believe how much music I forgot n'stuff. Having it all here, not digging out CDs (or for god's sake cassette tapes (aging myself indeed)) is wondeful.

I don't know exactly what prompted me to post tonight; it's just great to feel good, ya know? Life is hard enough, and if I have moment of pure happiness, i guess i feel like sharing it.

2. I know...
Is it not sad when we question happiness? How f'd up are things when normalcy seems weird?

Not that I seek normalcy... I am just so used to being pissed off and on edge (everyone i know is eiher republican or dim witted (oh wait - hehe) that I feel like this is well deserved.

3. One of the things we seem to have sadly forgotten ...
... is the joy of sharing our joy!

There's NOTHING like finding long forgotten music and remembering what it meant then, and what it still means .

Thanks for sharing your happiness!

Someone please stop me... Now I'm watching old movies (Kissing Jessica Stein)... jeebus... I obviously need some help... (to top things off I am over using the ellipsis (for all my grammar nerds out there)).

10. I don't think that's strange at all. I do that all the time, when I'm
feeling like, "how did I find myself in this situation?" Well listening to the music and watching the films and reading the books that I loved when I was younger helps me figure out precisely WHY I am where I am. It's a mix of things - pure pleasure and also nostalgia and a kind of therapy where you reaffirm who you are.

7. : )
Me too. My son's ex girlfriend gave me her old one about 4 months ago. It is a tiny thing and I filled it up very quickly with all my CD's and a few downloads so I finally went out and bought the new Zune. Now I use my Ipod for audio books and my Zune for music because it holds enough I can put all the current music I like, all the old music I loved and plenty of room for Operas and the music I need to learn for this season. I adore it. I held out for a long time until I finally just had to have one.

Good for you. Find your joy, music is one very easy way to do that. BTW, cassette's don't make you look old, try LP's and 8 tracks!

8. Good for you
I know exactly what you mean. Music is amazing, the way it can affect us. Do you know my dad actually doesn't get 'it' about music? One song can completely change my mood, bring a huge smile to my face ect...and its even more fun to rediscover stuff isn't it?

:)

9. Oh, I know! When I bought my first mp3 player, we were inseparable. lol
Interestingly, I misplaced mine this past weekend, :( , and it really sucks because I love music and I took it with me everywhere. Now I have to get a new one or else I am going to die! :D
