Outrage Over Official's Slurs Against Gays, PWAs
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/03/030305waHate.htm

Legislators are demanding an apology from a businessman who made anti-gay comments to a group visiting the Capitol for an AIDS awareness day.

"Looks like it's anal sex week," Lou Novak loudly remarked as a group from the Life Long AIDS Alliance walked though the state House office building.

The group included a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy. The boy's family had recently been forced to move because of anti-gay prejudice in his neighborhood.

1. Here is Novak's (any relation to the Prince of Darkness?) "apology"
"I'm certainly sorry that anyone was offended by it."

Well I am sorry for you, Mr. Novak, because that is a non-apology apology. Your're just sorry for the corner you find yourself in.

6. Like the time I called a conductor a "fucking asshole" under my breath
Edited on Sat Mar-05-05 10:06 AM by Misunderestimator
as I was leaving the stage after some pitiful, egotistical crap from the "Maestro" as he insisted on being called... :eyes:

He later demanded an apology or we wouldn't go on for the next act. I said "I'm sorry you overheard me call you a fucking asshole."

We didn't get along very well at all.

...http://www.rha-ps.com/rha_info.aspx#Board_of_directors . While they've already taken Novak's name off the page as 1st VP, their email assignment methodology would seem to indicate lnovak@rha-ps.com . Something along the lines of...

Dear Mr. Novak:
While it has not, to my knowledge, been officially designated as "Anal Sex" week, perhaps you could assist in securing this designation from Congress. A well-placed envelope stuffed with cash for Tom DeLay would probably do the trick. Once we get some week designated as such -- thanks to your inspiration, effort and expenditure -- I'd like to acquaint your anus with a broken beer bottle to give you some insight into the suffering experienced by the PWAs you so callously demean.
Hope to hear from ya!

5. From the article: Novak resigned after an apology was made.
<snip>
Thursday, Novak resigned from the Association after its president wrote a letter of apology to several legislators.

"RHA has a strong record of tolerance and understanding to all members of the community," president Cathy Jeney wrote. "We take these obligations seriously and, for that reason, included them in our member Code of Conduct. While an organization of 3,500 members cannot always control the individual actions of its members, I would like to assure you that RHA does not endorse or condone any comments which differ from our commitment to diversity."
<snip>

Guess that would clear up the sincerity question regarding Novak's apology. :eyes:
