I came back to see what was up and saw the garbage below.

I feel like CA was a real kick in the teeth for progress and change (no surprise hear in AZ) Seems like the LDS folks might have a little more compassion considering their history, but then again I don't think they considered Blacks human until the 70's so...

edit to say oh it all got deleted.

6. I am so angry at what happened last night to gay people
with Prop. 8 and the anti-gay marriage Amendment in AZ. I'm in no mood to put up some loud mouth, homophobic bigot and of all places here on DU!

I was sooooo excited last night with the returns in general and I was having a blast doing the anti-Palin dance until returns started coming in about the bigotry. The more I think about it....the more angry I'm becoming. The only positive thing to come from it for me was watching Rachel Maddow speak out against it. :-D She was the shining star last night in the media! And equally disappointing was Keith Olberaman, who I've respected so much. Except after Rachel brought up Prop. 8 and spoke out against it, all the male panel members for MSN, including Keith, barely acknowledged what she was saying. Then both my partner and I were stunned to watch them instead try to change the subject as quickly as possible.

7. It has really sucked away all my happiness --w hich was already tempered happiness
Because I don't think the Obama-Biden Presidency will be the most gay rights-embracing.

As the day has played out, I've gotten angrier and angrier -- even more so after reading all the same SHIT about "baby steps"on DU. And, not all of the posts have been by trolls.

I shou;d be happy today, but instead, I'm fucking pissed and heartsick.

19. As the day has gone on, I'm finding myself
more angry not only at the repugs and fundies who hate us to begin with, but when I think about the fact that fellow democrats sold us out, who were of different races and such according to the stats on who voted on Prop. 8. So some of supporters who voted for Prop. 8 also voted for Obama - and that night he's talking about equality, unity, inclusion, and so forth. That is so f*cked up.

The whole thing feels like a giant slap in the face. And why should we believe it will stop? The fundies, who hate us so much, got what they wanted in the middle of a Dem. tidal wave of an election. You know this will only fuel their bigoted drive to go after us more. And they got Dems to help them - I think that really p*sses me off more then anything!!! MFdamnit!! We're going backwards, not ahead. The last 4 yrs. have been the most legally insulting and damaging to us then I can think of in a long time. It's steamrolling and something has to be done to stop it and overturn these laws.

18. Yep. And self-righteous sanctimony, too.
You can always see it coming when someone says, "Well what the gay community NEEDS to do is....blah blah blah."
