Tutu: 'Celebrate gays'

Johannesburg - Sexuality was about creativity and self expression, and alternative sexualities should be celebrated, former archbishop emeritus Desmond Tutu said on Thursday.

"You should love who you are," Tutu said in a film-clip message at the opening of the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

Congress of South African Trade Unions president Willie Madisha was also supposed to speak, but did not make it.

About 350 gays and lesbians of all races gathered for the festival.

Why can't all so-called religious leaders just teach this? Is man so narrow that he can't accept such a purely positive message? Tutu has proven himself more of a man and more of a human being than any of these stupid bishops ranting about gays.
