Senator Backtracks On 'Activist Judges' Remark
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/04/040605judgesFolo.htm

Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) is attempting to distance himself from remarks he made Monday in the Senate suggesting that court rulings on issues such as gay marriage and the Terri Schiavo case have possibly led to recent violence at local courthouses.

Tuesday night Cornyn again rose in the Senate this time to admit that "I'm not aware of any evidence whatsoever linking recent acts of courthouse violence to the various controversial rulings that have captured the nation’s attention in recent years."

But, he neither apologized nor retracted his original statement that raised the ire of Democrats and the eyebrows of fellow Republicans, only saying "I regret it that my remarks have been taken out of context to create a wrong impression about my position".

1. I'll bet that if someone did...
... a genome project on Republican politicians, they'd discover that they've been right all along and Darwin was wrong. They didn't descend from the apes.

They're direct descendants of weasels.

2. Backtrack all you want to, you Moran.
We all know what you meant when you said it and we all know in what what context it was said.

You can't run from the truth.

5. He can't backtrack on his LIES about the three legal experts' positions
on the constitutionalality of filibustering. This is an important aspect that needs to be publicized - could be good ammunition for the Senate debate on the nuclear option.

"John Cornyn caught lying about legal support for his filibuster argument"

Kos wrote included this (with a link to the web page of the blogger who found it) in his Cornyn roundup, but so far it hasn't been picked up by the media. (And yes, they've been told.)
