Cocaine Laced With Veterinary Drug Levamisole Eats Away at Flesh
Edited on Thu Jun-23-11 05:23 PM by Elmore Furth
So you thought strokes, heart attacks and perforated nasal septum were the only side effects of cocaine?

Here is a syndrome of tips of ears and noses falling off caused by a deworming veterinary drug that is used to cut the cocaine.

Cocaine cut with the veterinary drug levamisole could be the culprit in a flurry of flesh-eating disease in New York and Los Angeles.

The drug, used to deworm cattle, pigs and sheep, can rot the skin off noses, ears and cheeks. And over 80 percent of the country's coke supply contains it.

In a case study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Craft describes six cocaine users recently plagued by the dark purple patches of dying flesh. And while they happened to hail from the country's coastlines, the problem is national.

Eighty-two percent of seized cocaine contains levamisole, according to an April 2011 report by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Why dealers would stretch their stash with levamisole instead of the more traditional fillers, like baking soda, is unclear, although studies in rats suggest the drug acts on the same brain receptors as cocaine. So it might be added to enhance or extend the cocaine's euphoric effects on the cheap.

1. To kill drug users.
Why else would they do it.

Note, that is why there is governance, and FDA, and why no poison has any effect.

Personally I been poisoned a few times.

2. Uh, maybe because the drug is cheap
and the drug dealers want to cut it with something to boost profits?

It's a simpler answer. Probably a better one. Drug dealers aren't angels.

3. I was not saying drug dealers are angels.

I been saying that Americans are over medicated for years.

And vitamin b1 is cheaper as a cut to drugs.

But the function not data, is that unregulated structures, and illegal drug distribution is a form of governance, just like the public sector, just like the private sector, but since they are illegal, they have there own rules, and an FDA is not part of those rules.

Then again, many people would want to get rid of FDA in the public sector governance also, then 'legal' pharmacies would be putting drugs on many people that they don't need.

Or someone else said it better. Note it can be about many ideas of coercion.

Do you see that song has nothing to do with drugs, but since it is about justice and compassion, it is about how some try to hurt many, or don't care about many, including by pushing drugs onto communities.

And I am still standing. And vengeance belongs not to the person, but to the spirit, that is also in that song.

4. There's a lot of BULLSHIT in this article.
For instance, if cocaine were ever cut with baking soda, the repeat customers who inject it would become one time customers. Dealers aren't stupid and they don't do stuff like that.

However, levamisole is cheap and available and extends the high. They're using it in both heroin (where it originally surfaced) and cocaine.

What it does is collapse the bone marrow. It doesn't directly eat flesh. The reaction is also extremely rare and levasimole has a place in some chemotherapy regimens.

Here's the scoop: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5849a3.htm
