du women - anyone tried the nuvo-ring contraceptive?
i am thinking of changing types and i am interestd in this. i was interested in the patch until i read about the problems with it that are coming up (blood clots, strokes...)

i use the depo shot now and love not having a period but i cannot loose any weight on this crap. it really sucks.

1. i loved it.
if i could tolerate estrogen, i'd still be on it to this day. as far as i know, it's the lowest effective dose available, since the hormones only need to get to your ovaries and uterus and this puts them right there, theres often less side effects because the amount getting into your systemic bloodstream is so much lower.

weight issues, i don't know about.

3. Ive been on it over a year...
I had horrid troubles with pills and this is wonderful!!! It's a low dose and has even time release, just put it in and forget about it. My doctor says some women dont like it because they have to touch themselves...I hope youre not that prudish if you are here, I do live in Utah...

The doctor even gave me a cool little timer that shows the part of your cycle you are on and it beeps periodically on days you need to change.

Best of Luck

Skylar Mae

5. an elegant form of bc
no association with weight gain, nor with the (very slight) increase in clots etc. seen with the patch. can be used continuously (ie -- don't leave out for a "withdrawal bleed"/period)
do know that it is sometimes felt by male partners during intercourse (can be removed for up to 2 hours)

recommended
