Gardasil: Testing on men 18-26 but we were told that girls must be vaccinated before sexually active
Just how many men aged 18-26 have not had sex yet?

We have been told that early vaccination, (girls as young as 9 years old) is important because Gardasil must be administered before exposure. In fact, if you already have a a strain of HPV that Gardasil innoculates against, it can make your infection much worse.

Wonder vaccine gets its share of complaints Insight Down Under

By JEFFREY FRANCIS Sunday August 17, 2008

THE controversial “wonder” vaccine Gardasil, described as the biggest breakthrough in health care, may also be administered to young boys to protect them against the human papillomavirus (HPV), a group of viruses that cause skin warts, genital warts and some cancers, including cervical cancer.

Researchers at Sydney University are now conducting a series of trials on young men between 18 and 26 to see whether the vaccine is effective against viruses that could lead to genital warts.

Eminent immunologist and Australian of the Year 2006 Prof Ian Fraser, who is one of the co-inventors of the vaccine, gives three reasons for wanting to vaccinate school-going boys.

Firstly, the boys will grow up to be men and are almost certainly susceptible to viruses that cause cervical cancer, the world’s second most common killer.

Secondly, boys are vectors that pass the viruses on to girls in their sexual encounters.

1. They always test on that age group first
the key word here being test.

A lot of the early guinea pig volunteers in limited trials on healthy adults are prisoners who volunteer for privileges or pay.

If Gardasil passes this group, then there will be a limited trial in young males. If the limited trial is successful, then it will be offered to boys, too.

They have recently found out that HPV isn't as benign in males as once thought. That's why they're expanding the trials to males, along with the obvious reason that uninfected males won't pass the virus to females.

2. You concluded from this article that they're never going to administer the vaccine to boys under 18?

Seriously?

Talk about grasping at straws...

If I were you I wouldn't try to stretch anything else today, 'cuz you're definitely going to need traction after this one.

6. You are free to post threads of your own, but thanks for kicking this up
It amazes me to see someone complain and rant yet do nothing else.

You CAN post your own ops if you want, no one is stopping you.

If seems you have no interest in posting your own threads, but a huge interest in whining.

Would that include people who post fake excerpts from medical journals when they have no research to support their opinion?

5. Sigh. I guess it's true that you can't fix willful ignorance.
I'm curious though, did Gardasil kill your cat or something?

This crusade of yours is starting to appear pathological.
