Anyone Else With The Flu?

I started feeling under the weather about a week and a half ago. Last night was the worst of it with high fever, nausea, achy.

I'm drinking lots of fluids, taking vitamins and tylenol. Feel like I'm getting my groove back a little this afternoon.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with the Hong Kong Flu being the worst I've ever had, this is about a seven.

3. Yep. Couldn't go out right now if I wanted to.

One thing that's making this flu tolerable is the mild pulmonary symptoms. I decided not to go to the doctor and risk infecting other people. Another couple days
and I'll be back on my feet.

Just wondering if other people are dealing with this at home and not reporting it.

4. I've never had a flu shot. And I think you're probably right about it

being the seasonal flu. I've only had the flu twice in my life so I'll probably pass on the shot.

are up and around soon. It should just about be over, except for a lingering cough that will probably last for another week or so, if you're a non-smoker.

13. Eff the flu shot! I talked to a woman, scared of getting the "Swine Flu"

(yeah, right, my arse) and she said that she always gets a flu shot and she always gets THE FLU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. The flu usually

comes on quickly and severely and a high fever (at least over 101 but probably higher) runs for 3 - 4 days. If you have the flu, the feeling "under the weather" starting about a week and a half ago is probably unrelated. Last time I had a true flu (rather than a really bad cold) I felt fine up until the night before (when I was particularly irritable and weepy) and woke up the next am with a temp of 103.

Regardless of what you have, I hope you feel better soon.

10. I had a stomach flu two weeks ago

It only lasted about 48 hours but kicked my ass. First time I have called in sick in 14 years.

11. Sounds like there are a few different strains

going around. What's weird about the one I have is, I'll start felling better than wham! get hit with
wracking chills where I'm shaking so bad I can't pick up a glass. Then an hour later the fever goes
back down and I feel like I'm on the mend. I hope this ends soon.
