I found this to be a rather good example of why immunizations are important, and it's written by my favorite children's book author to boot:

1. I adore Mr. Dahl.
Sad story of one of the many tragedies in his great life. Perhaps if not for those tragedies the dark side of his writing that made it so asofrickinglutely fantastic would not be there.

And a well written letter with a good message to boot.

4. My kids learned to read on Roald Dahl...
We've got all his big ones, and I remember reading the books to them as little kids. They loved the Vermicious Knids from Glass Elevator.

This is a good, if dated, article. Thanks for posting.
