My Right-Wing-Nut Siblings' health care prescription for me

My Right-Wing-Nut Siblings are in town for our mother's 86th birthday and they have a health care prescription for me.

TODAY'S MESSAGE FROM ONE OF MY RIGHT WING-NUTS:

"I hope they don't pass that crazy health care, it will ruin the economy!"

That was the voice of my eldest sister, who is married to a physician.

SATURDAY'S BIT OF RIGHT WING NUT WISDOM, SHARED AT A FAMILY DINNER, THIS TIME MY SISTER IN LAW:

"you can go to the ER, they won't turn you away."

You see, my brother, her husband - had to have a stint put in recently and clogged arteries seem to run in my family.
So I asked what I was supposed to do if I got sick, since I do not have health insurance? I also had gall bladder surgery recommended 2 years ago, but didn't have it because of lack of insurance. So eventually I will get sick and anyone can have an accident.

Getting sick is a matter of when, not if.

God help me these are my family members, they know I haven't had health insurance for 6 fracking years, I've taken care of my and their mother for 10 fracking years, and I have a teenager going to college next year, and they say this shit!

These people all have advanced degrees!

1. These people are all greedy, they have insurance, they're "on their own ship".

They don't care about anyone else, really, they don't. Not even if it's a family member.

2. You should start sending them a bill for elder care....

24 hours a day at $40 per hour = $480 multiplied by 7 days = $3360 times 52 weeks = $174,520....and that's just for taking care of one mother!

3. For those who offer the emergency room as an alternative they should

remember that they do not put stints in in the emergency room. They also do not do hip surgery and they do not deliver babies in the emergency room. They are poorly informed if they think an emergency room is a good health care bill.

6. I Converted a Doctor Friend

to supporting public option and single payer. I asked him why he is opposed to being paid for every patient he sees rather than having a huge percentage of unpaid bills and giving collection agencies a large part of his profits. He went home, did the math and agreed he would be better off with the proposed system.
