Beetroot juice boosts stamina, new study shows
http://www.physorg.com/news168787342.html

Drinking beetroot juice boosts your stamina and could help you exercise for up to 16% longer. A University of Exeter led-study, published today, shows for the first time how the nitrate contained in beetroot juice leads to a reduction in oxygen uptake, making exercise less tiring.

The study reveals that drinking beetroot juice reduces oxygen uptake to an extent that cannot be achieved by any other known means, including training.

The research team believes that the findings could be of great interest to endurance athletes. They could also be relevant to elderly people or those with cardiovascular, respiratory or metabolic diseases.

I boil them, then dice them add some butter and sugar to sweeten them up a little and yum yum. I ate so many one time that when I went to the bathroom, I thought I was bleeding to death. Yup, you can eat enough to turn everything that comes out of you red.

7. Ditto that!
I'll eat almost anything else, but just the smell of beets makes me gag. Maybe there's a pill? :D

2. here's why it works:
it tastes so so so horrible that your adrenalin kicks in due to flight or fight reflex (in this case: flight) and therefore you have the stamina to exercise longer.
