Cost shifting hidden tax in healthcare: $2,800 per family per year
Edited on Thu Aug-20-09 09:01 AM by steven johnson
So healthcare is a right, like opening up the water faucet and it just pours out -- right?

The ugly truth is that the insured pay $1,017 a year extra for the uninsured and $1,788 year for underinsured Medicare and Medicaid -- $2,805 per year.

The hospitals and insurance companies with quasi-monopolies just wash this hidden tax through to do the dirty work for the government so it doesn't have to get its hands dirty with 'socialism'.

Welcome to America -- "In Ogilopolies We Trust." All others pay cash.

1. Then there is the cost of those
who go bankrupt. That's also paid for.

No, healthcare is not a right. A right cannot be dependent on a 3rd party to attain some higher level of knowledge for the the right to be in effect. If nobody on Earth wanted to be a healthcare provider, where would that right be ? It would be gone. An inherent human right cannot appear and disappear at the whim of a third party.

4. This is what's wrong with you interlopers
You come here and argue your stupidity which ignores numerous conventions since World War II that health care is a human right, just like education. Tell me, how does public education fit into your "3rd party higher level of knowledge" world view? You fascists have long since given up trying to scuttle the idea of public education, but you still nibble at the edges, making profit off of it and trying to deny it to people of "lesser races" like Sotomayor, and questioning her credentials when she does succeed at it.

You still try to scuttle guaranteed pensions (Social Security), but your village idiot in charge discovered that sane people didn't want to tie their old age to the roller coaster of Wall Street.

And even though every single advanced country (I omit the U.S. as an advanced country, since the state of the average worker has been stuck for the last 30 years) has agreed that health care is a basic human right and established a system to provide it, you still want it to be only for the rich. World War II was supposed to defeat fascist ideology, but instead, it got transplanted to flourish in one of the victors, the United States, where the dumber half lap it up with gusto.

5. Agree completely!

Also, I note that the interloper's nickname, "st8grad93," clearly indicates that he/she graduated from a state university, which by its nature is run and financed by the government to make higher education more attainable.

Ahhhhhhhh... redistribution of wealth... socialism!

Hypocrite!

6. So you don't have a right to clean drinking water.
No one wants to clean it up and pump it over to you. SOL.
Taxes and representation? Constitution? Nothing?
