Do you read large print magazines or books?

I'm curious if any of DU's senior readers buy/borrow large-print books or magazines, whether for themselves or for someone else.

Do you? Why or why not? I'm very interested in anything you might have to say on the topic.

was MUCH easier to read than the regular ones. I can still read well during daylight, but it's getting harder and harder to do so by lamp. I guess what I'm going to have to do is buy a "reading lamp".

The only disadvantage I found with the large print book is taht it is much bigger (heavier) than the regular ones and a bit of a PIA to carry around if you take it with you somewhere.

Would you read large print more frequently if, say, it wasn't a PIA to carry around? Would you ever consider subscribing to a large-print magazine? If so, what appeals to you most in a magazine?

What do you most enjoy reading? News and current events? Fiction - mystery, thriller, romance, trade? Non-fiction - history, philosophy, DIY or self-help, memoir?

I have an idea, and I'm trying to do some market research. I quite appreciate your response.

In books, I love the political books from authors like John Dean, Greg Palast, etc., but also love mystery books by Sue Grafton etc.

As far as the PIA factor in carrying they aroung, I don't go out very often, so it's not rally a BIG issue. I guess I mentioned it because I took one with me when I accompanies my hubby to a Dr. appt. recently.

I don't know if this will help your research or not, but one thing I'd love to see on all books is a place keeper ribbon or some kind. The ones that are made part of the binding when the book is made. Just another little thing that drives me nuts is when you drop the book (or someone else does) and the bookmark falls out!
