1. a bit before my time
but, being a curly haired Irish girl, I was desperate for anything that would straighten my hair like the hair in this commercial. I could tell you stories that would, well, curl your hair, about the things I went through to get Twiggy/Jean Shrimpton/Patti Boyd hair.

5. Hey, I took one look at Mary Travers' pin straight hair....
.... and walked myself right over the ironing board and ironed my long hair. And mine was pretty straight to begin with.

7. My sister used to do that!!!
Edited on Sat Sep-26-09 11:43 AM by oldtime dfl_er
I envied her but for some reason I never tried the ironing board myself. I tried Dippity Doo with tomato soup cans for curlers, I tried that hideous chemical straightener, I tried a nylon stocking on my head overnight....I tried 'em all. I like these days better. Nowadays my hair looks like this

12. Here's Farrah "head & shoulders" above us mere mortals:

This was the first time I became aware of her and I had a huge girl-crush. She made my eyes happy. :bounce:
