H1N1 immunizations
Husband and i dropped into our primary care MD today to ask if there was a priority list for
giving the shots. Surprisingly enough, there was none. All her patients were being given them
if they requested. So we got ours today. Flu shots a month or so ago, and we were already
up to date with the pneumonia one. Hopefully we are covered. How about the rest of you?....z

1. As far as I am concerned the way they have handled the whole thing is bullshit
I am in Northern California and there is NOT enough H1N1, and when they do get supplies, the most vulnerable demographic will get priority. That I understand, but the way this whole thing has been handled is terrible

Last weekend the city said they had 5000 doses, first come first serve

No organization

and the regular flu vaccine is no longer available

We will see how things develop, but in my view you were lucky

2. Yes, we were quite surprised that our MD had the vaccine.
Considered ourselves lucky. Didn't get to talk to her in person, so don't know
how come she had still had it. She, too, wasn't giving the regular flu shots any more, however
i think some of our local grocery stores are. We are in S CA. LA paper said today that lots of
folks in targeted areas weren't getting the H1N1 shots. Might be one of the reasons for the availability.
Who knows? Hope you have better luck....z

3. No shots of either type available here. Town clinic canceled.
Senior clinic canceled. Even the Doctor has none. I called yesterday and was told to call back end of November to see if they expect and in December. The few regular flu vaccine shots were given last month.

If so many areas are like this, once the holiday season is arrives, the flu will probable spread like wildfire.
