I Am Not Happy....And That's Not Good..

That $250 may not seem like much to many, but my rent was increased for the third time in five years. The $250 spread over a twelve-month period would have amounted to approximately $21.00 and subsidized the rent increase. I mean, WTH? This will be the third year in a row without a cost-of-living increase and now not even the paltry $250. I am not amused...

1. The good news is that the poverty formula is finally being revisited
and will no longer be solely calculated on a market basket of food. I think a lot of seniors will be getting a decent COLA in years to come after years of being cheated by Greenscam and his gaggle of conservative politicians in power.

The old formula assumed food took up 1/3 of a family budget, while in reality it was closer to 1/6 due to inflation in housing and health costs.

This won't help you this year but it should help you in the future. I sincerely hope so, anyway.

2. Thank you Warpy, I'm sure there will be a COLA down the road but
many were counting on that $250 this year. Better days ahead I'm sure.

3. Does anyone know the reason that 12 Dems joined the
Republicans to deny seniors this paltry $250.00? I am angry about this too.

4. Because they are DINOS
I want to find a list of these Senators. Everything I buy has gone up. Co-pays for Doctor visits & prescriptions increased this year. Food prices have risen every time I go shopping. Phone bill increased $2.00 last month. Haircuts went up a dollar last fall. These are necessities. $250.00 wouldn't begin to cover the increase but it would have helped.
