I just stopped by the Hubble image site

I just stopped by the Hubble image site

and I am now in the process of downloading a 58.7 Mb image of M101:

(15852 x 12392 pixels). Why? I don't know. It probably won't even load in irfan view. I guess I'm just addicted to downloading.

Wow...at first I was sure you were talking about a bitmap. I was going to say I have an 80 Mb bitmap image of saturn (the jpeg version is about 6 Mb).

58.7 Mb jpeg though...that's impressive :)

4. Well it's done
And it did open, but that's about all it did. When I tried to increase the image size, it locked up my ram. The virtual memory warning came on and that was that. Oh well, maybe when I upgrade my system I'll try again.
