Images reveal 'lost' Roman city (BBC)
Aerial photographs have revealed the streetplan of a lost Roman city called Altinum, which some scholars regard as a forerunner of Venice.

The images reveal the remains of city walls, the street network, dwellings, theatres and other structures.

They also show a complex network of rivers and canals, revealing how the people mastered the marshy environment in what is now the lagoon of Venice.

Details of the research have been published in the journal Science.

Andrea Ninfo and colleagues from Padua University, Italy, made the first detailed reconstruction of the city's topography and environmental setting.

8. Thanks for that link, had to look up Odeon
found this:
Odeon, from the ancient Greek ?????? (literally "building for musical competitions, from the Greek for "to sing", which is also the root of ode and aoidos) is a name for several ancient Greek and Roman buildings built for singing exercises, musical shows and poetry competitions. They were generally small in size, especially as compared to a full-size ancient Greek theatre.
Odeon, from Greek mythology, was an evil creature that roamed the Earth. He was a mythological monster that is described as having three heads, three tails, and five legs. He was known for rampaging villages in early Greece, and murdering all that crossed his path. Hades used Odeon to carry out his deeds on Earth.

Interesting stuff, and I thought Hades was a place, not a person. More things to look up...

7. Just a blank spot where I thought a photo should be.
Guess that was where you watched video. I have a Mac with Safari as browser if that makes the difference. I can sometimes watch video on DU, other times need to go to youtube.
