An explanation for dark energy

What if the entire universe is a cup of liquid of some larger order reality that is being warmed (and hence expanded) because it is in some larger order being's microwave -- or for that matter some liquid in a puddle being warmed by a larger order sun?

No need to take this seriously. I'm just screwing around.
