Science as Art: Photo Gallery of the Super-Kamiokande
Edited on Sat Aug-22-09 06:24 PM by parasearchers
Pictures of Super-Kamiokande, a 50,000 ton water Cherenkov detector in Japan.

A Cherenkov detector detects Cherenkov light generated by charged particles scattered by neutrinos in water.

Very strange and very cool.

Couldnt figure out how to shrink the photo. However it is pretty surreal looking at it this way.

5. K&R Incredible picture.
I don't have a clue what the whole thing is about, but it is impressive. Neutrinos -- unseen particles. Let me know how this works.
