It's ALIVE!
The experiment involved creating a strand of DNA as specified by a computer in a sequencing machine, and inserting it into a dead cell of M. capricolum, and then watching it revivify and express the artificial markers and the M. mycoides proteins. It really is like bringing the dead back to life.

2. Don't be daft! This wasn't designed and created, any more than the dead cell of M. capricolum.

They make it sound as if it's some sort of intellectual feat. It just happened. Evolved. Or it was always there, anyway.

Where's the consistency in your thinking, 'naive realists'*?

* Einstein's polite way of calling you 'dummies'.

Weren't they capable of thinking up a design of their own of the simplest of simple cells? Don't they feel any shame at cribbing from the Almighty, the supremely intelligent designer, for such a trifling achievement?
