4. I saw a documentary on theses several years back.

They (Hawaiian ones) are endangered due to invasive species, specifically ants. When an ant crawls over one of these it, of course, grabs the ant and starts to chow down. However, once grabbed, the ant sends out a chemical distress signal and lots of its friends promptly mob the caterpillar and kill it.
