Using one's wives as a human shield?
One of the items that came from the news about the Gaza fight, was about that Hamas leader who purposefully stayed in his home even after he was warned that the building was going to be bombed by the Israelis. An act of defiance, fine.

But why keep his four wives and 12 children there? Isn't this an act of spousal abuse?

The airstrike demolished the building, sent a thick plume of smoke into the air, and heavily damaged neighbouring buildings. Eighteen other people, including all four of Rayan's wives and nine of his 12 children, also died, Palestinian health officials said. The Muslim faith allows men to have up to four wives.

Hamas leaders went into hiding before Israel launched its operation, but Rayan was known for openly defying Israel, and the army said he had a tunnel under his house that could serve as an escape route.

1. Presumptuous of you, no?
No one knows what happened if they are all dead.

2. Palestinian reporters said that he was not going to hide
And why not? He did send his son to be a suicide bomber.

3. Pulling conclusions from a personal body part, are we?
Where EXACTLY does he state, or for that matter, anyone ELSE state he was using his wives as human shields?

There could have been any number of reasons why they were there, but of course the real answer won't be known because they are dead.

What you've done is SPIN something for points. Congrats -- you can now become a Fox News Journalist. :eyes:

4. The only conclusion that could reasonably be drawn was that he was willing to have them killed
Rayvan was hardcore. Lead from the front, which is not all that common over there. He had to know he was a high priority target. He knew that his family would not shield him from an Israeli strike. Its not reasonable to assume he knew he was being tracked when he went to his home.

My take is he was willing to risk himself and his entire family for the cause. He was also making that call for the rest of the family and the rest of the people in that building. That illustrative of the mindset of the true believer. Its not just the Hamas ones that scare me.
