...my sister and I are seeking prosecution for his wife whom he married 1 year after our mother's death. She got him to sign everything over to her and then, when he was dying, she took all his money, moved into a palatial asssited living place, denied him the same living situation, and left him to die alone and in filth. She had isolated him from my sister and I and told him nobody cared about him and that we had deserted him, when in reality she had called and threatened us and was outright nasty and let us think my father was going along with this. As soon as he signed everything over to her was when her abuse began. She denied him his medication, his oxygen and about everything other necessity. My sister and I could do little about it because according to Adult Protective Services, unless he asked for help, they could do nothing. Her son was in on it as well, and is now "power of attorney" while dipping into the funds, living our family home, and driving my father's new car.

Even though I am very poor, I could care less about inheriting anything, what is haunting me is the image of my father lying in that filth where they found maggots and smeared feces, he was emaciated and without food, freezing to death and dying without anyone who loved him with him. After being rescued and being in a place where he was loved, cared for, and cherished he filed for divorce from this witch just to get access to any of the money he had worked all his life to earn, but died before it was completed. Thanks to the community property laws in this state (Washington) this bitch gets everything and cackled in delight when she learned of his death, crowing that she was "getting everything ...' She even tried to keep his body so she would not have to pay for his burial and put a k abash on his burial, which he paid and gave written requests to be carried out. She refused to release his body for the burial he specifically asked for. this was husband number three that she had done this to. The worse part was, she actually is trying to sue the granddaughter who was my father's rescuer essentially for rescuing my dad!

So this began my jihad to make sure no other senior lived through this if I could help it. I realized the *only* way was to prosecute this woman, which was almost impossible because nobody cares about middle class seniors who live their last days at home, they are sitting ducks. Oh sure Adult Protective Services will go after assisted living homes with the big guns, but justice for someone starving or freezing to death and/or unable to even get the medication they need while living in their own home at that hands of supposed "family" who call themselves the caregivers but who in reality are greedy, heartless pigs who could care less about their benefactor???? Nada! as I said to my ;legislator when I realized there was nothing being done for people like my dad, "Soooo, do people think it hurts LESS to be tortured in one home than in a facility? I would think it would hurt even more since the caregivers for seniors in their home are often family!" She had to agree ...

It took a lot of work, but as a seasoned activist who "had people" in spite of my poverty, I did my homework. My dad died December 13th last year, but just this week we have finally gotten the ear of the prosecutor but only because I talked to my legislators, the national consortium for elder abuse, domestic violence people, and a couple former prosecutors who had successfully prosecuted others for this in another county who are introducing legislation to make relatives and spouses who do this unable to inherit ~ and to put a punctuation on it, I also casually dropped the information to this prosecutor that the local television station was considering doing an article about my dad and the horrible situation seniors living at home are in because they have no protection thanks to nothing being done. I also pulled strings because my cousin, one of my dad's rescuers is also the quartermaster for the local police and knew who to send me to for the police report and is one of the witnesses, so it won't get lost and "forgotten". We have the pictures, witnesses and evidence (even using her suing of the granddaughter for "withholding of support") and we will be asking for her to be prosecuted for withholding of support, financial exploitation, abandonment, neglect, physical and mental abuse. it looks like we have a good case or at the very least will be an huge embarrassment for her, her cohorts and her son ...

I am telling you this is freaking scary because it is happening with impunity by relatives and spouses who know they will literally get away with murder, and as one who is in the next generation of elders, it would be politic for us to get something done about this NOW or we are next.

I AM going to make sure this woman, her son, and every single person who profited from my dad's abuse are named! Watch for coming news ...

I would hope so! But then as I wrote earlier I am biased as I saw what happened to my dad and I am telling you, it deserves attention. The problem with some of these "little old ladies" is that they are just as described ~ Black Widows who prey on men to accumulate a hoard for themselves. It is a another way of whoring they can do, even tho they have few years with which to use their ill gotten gains. Often family members are in on it, because, guess who gets when the old Spider dies? The only comfort you get is that her "family" usually hates her guts and when she becomes feeble enough, she will get the same treatment she gave to others.
