1. I don't have the recipe, but people where I used to work
used to rave over our grilled portabella mushroom sandwich. We used to have meat lovers order it all the time, they said it tasted like steak (?). After grilling it, they had a special sauce they put on it but I can't remember what it was...sorry.

2. Check these out....I find I "Google" more and more for recipes even though

I must have at least 200 Cookbooks. If I need something fast to find a recipe...Google usually gives me a source which is probably in one of my cookbooks if I took the time to lool. :D

Steak lovers who have to watch their fat/cholesterol count, often find portobello sandwiches satisfies their cravings.. As long as it's olive oil to grill it and not an animal fate and not too much sauce with bad stuff...portabello's are really great!

3. Teriyaki-marinated over rice and
another good one is sliced and sauteed in balsamic and olive oil on a sandwich with broiled red peppers.

5. very easy and delicious
first, if the gills on the underside of the mushroom are wet, scoop them off with a spoon or knife.

marinate with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and an herb of your choosing (rosemary, basil, cilantro for a kick) for 15-30 minutes.

grill, broil, or bake with the underside up till they are browned with even a little bit of burn if you're on the bbq.

eat however you like--sandwich, slice it in long strips or eat with a knife and fork.

enjoy :bounce:
