I posted this in here rather than GD because it is a long article and while some people might read it, the article would probably drop fast before they could reply and others can see it. The second reason is pit bull threads in GD generally don't go well.

Not sure how I feel about undercover officers fighting dogs to uncover cases involving large dog fighting rings, I'm not an "ends justify the means" kind of guy. I'm glad they were able to rescue lots of dogs from executions by offering to take the injured dogs. Also when one of their dogs was in the "pit" they would almost always try to get a draw or forfeit before the dogs became seriously injured.

I do love the way the article knocks down some myths and also I found it interesting that dogfighters come from all walks of life. The detective in the case describes a registered nurse, crack dealer, a high school football coach, a school teacher, a firefighter, and even a veterinary technician who hooked up his dogs to IVs to rehydrate them after fights.

I can't say that I like how they did it, but I appreciate the results.

Honestly, if you posted that in GD, you'd have firestorms about not only the dogs but the tactics of the police and the boundaries they pushed.
