Future vegetarians?
This photo was published in the Raleigh News & Observer on January 4, 2011. I couldn't find it in the online version, so I scanned it (sorry it's a little crooked). I like the caption. :)

1. Don't want to eat my friends....
Believe it or not that's how I became vegan.

I came home one day and looked at my beloved Misty and realized that I would never eat her so how could I accept eating another creature with a face?

4. Bob Barker was a big influence for me
But also, believe it or not, Sarah Palin. Those photos of her leaning over those poor creatures . . . well, I don't care how "humane" the killing is, there are alternatives.

Plus, I was having cholesterol issues.

2. Strange things can be the determinant factor.
I credit The Smiths song "Meat is Murder" for showing me the alternative.

3. Comments have been suspended for that video.
Who knew choosing to eat healthy without killing anything would be controversial.
