The GD thread made me want to ask. I'm not much for the soy analogs 'cuz soy tends to be gas inducing for me. I do like the barbecue rib version once in a while. Before I go out and spend money on the bacon analog, I thought I'd come here and get folks' opinion, because now I'm craving an avocado and fake bacon sandwich. Thank you!
But if you're looking for something less processed, you can make your own fake bacon by thinly slicing and frying up strips of tempeh. Add a little soy sauce and sweetener during the last minute of frying for a nice bacony taste.
