I hope someday to meet Ryan Turtura and have a chat.

He'll be in prison for a few years, but when he gets out, I hope he and I can meet...

Man who burned puppies receives 101/2 years in prison

A man who told investigators he got a sexual high from hearing the screams of puppies he set on fire was sentenced to 10 1/2 years in prison Friday.

Ryan Turtura, 20, broke into the Colorado Humane Society shelter several times in February 2004, stealing four puppies in two break-ins Feb. 16.

The logical part of me would want to find out how he ended up this way. I don't think the logical part of me would win though, I think my inner Denzel Washington from "man on fire" would win and get me in trouble.

We are raising very troubled children in this country, perhaps we should start taking an honest look at that problem.

So somebody that sick is going to rot for ten years and just be thrown out into the world again. Great. I'm sure we'll all be surprised when his next victim is somebody's kid. :eyes:

3. The only thing keeping me from feeling rage at the sentence is

knowing that this little punk will serve at least 5 years in jail. 5 years amongst many large, angry men, with little to lose. Men who miss their dogs at home. Men who see "men" that set fire to dogs as special deviants that should be taught a lesson or culled from society. May justice be served.
