GD vs Lounge -- looking for some history to explain the conflict
As someone who rarely ventures into the lounge, but regularly posts in GD, is there really a 'feud' between the two? (something I read/interrupted in a recent post of someone's.)

I checked out the lounge when I first came to DU & yes, there are some interesting topics, but I come to DU for political threads, and I have limited internet time, so I don't go to the lounge.

GD has less restricted definitions than other forums, but it is still, generally, more political than the lounge, which is free form.

Recently there was a thread stating a conflict/confrontation between GD & the lounge. Is that really the case?

Just looking for some DU history to better understand the complexities of DU.
