My neighbor's barbecue is making me sick.
:puke:
I had to shut the windows. Does the smell of burning flesh make you sick? I've met some veggies that say no. I can't take the smell! I wish I could fight back and overwhelm my neighbors with the smell of cooked tofu. ;)

1. Yes, it's awful.
My horrible neighbors (see the dog thread down the page here) cook all kinds of stuff. Mostly steak, I'd gather by the smell. Night after night.... :puke:

9. It's good to see you back on DU!
I was a vegetarian for years, then started eating meat again when I got married to a total carnivore.

Recently I've discovered that I'm allergic to dairy, so I've cut that out of my diet and feel a whole lot better. I'm not vegan (or even vegetarian, for that matter) because I do eat some seafood on occasion (twice a month, maybe). But I am sympathetic to the cause, believe me. :D

5. I don't mind the smell of barbeque.
But i can't stand the smell of unseasoned ground beef getting cooked, even when I was a beefeater.

7. For me, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
Some days, I can tolerate it. But sometimes, and I have no idea why, the smell of cheese or sausage or fried chicken (I'm thinking of recent examples) have practically made me vomit.

And the raw stuff (especially seafood) always makes me nauseous.

8. At first (vegetarian for four months here) it didn't really bother me
and now it does, more and more. I just try to stay away from it as much as possible.

10. It really make me sick.
I live near a Tennessee Barbecue and some other chain steak house and sometimes the smell just hangs in the air. :puke:

11. It does make me sick... it didn't used to....
when I first became vegetarian it was the smell of temptation but the more PETA videos I saw (which have made me vegan) the more the smell makes me VERY sick.
