I mean if I want to move 100 files from one folder to another the little spinning rainbow disc comes up and I'm stuck for sometimes indefinitely until I decide to quit the finder...A couple of other OSX users I know have noticed the same thing...is it just a bug or what?
What about your computer, what about speed and RAM? What version of OSX? That info may not have anything to do with this problem, but you can never tell.
Mainly Photoshop or Illustrator, 100 kb to 8 MB...yeah I can see this slowing down the process...Come to think of it my computer crashed big time in Sept 2003 and the tech people said I had a physical problem with the hard drive (bad bands?) and eventually I would have to get it replaced...I have noticed lots of delays using Photoshop lately that I can only remedy by quitting and restarting it...I think I might have gained an insight into my problem, thanks...
I will go to the MacForce and ask about Maxtor ...It is definitely going to be attended to soon! However I hate asking my boss for all these things! Three weeks ago they paid $200 for a workshop for me to attend, and I was just about to hit him up for a Photoshop upgrade (to 7!) However, it has its rewards as I've been putting out a ton of artwork for them lately!
5. Run disk utility and if there are a lot of errors that can't
be fixed, show that to your boss. Then pitch for a new drive. Hey this drive is dying and we could lose a lot of data. $100 can buy you a lot of drive now.
