I must be really tired
I just had comcast set up broadband at my new house today.

I can get online, but none of my email accounts work now. I've checked and double checked all the settings and servers and passwords, but I still get connection failure error messages everytime I try to send or receive.

Any ideas what else to try?

1. Recheck your mail prefs
Mail>pref>accounts to make sure they're set up properly.

4. Thanks! in entourage, I've set up my accounts several times now to be sure
, following Comcast's instructions and those of my other email hosts.

It worked fine at my old house (a couple of miles away) at 11:00 and not at all at the new place at 1:00 after the installer was done.

I'm getting through to the Airport fine and Airport is talking to the modem and to the big wonderful world of the Internet (hence my presence here at DU). But connection errors in Entourage when I send/receive.

I'll try tomorrow evening (after the movers leave) at the nearby coffeeshop hot spot and see if I can email there.

2. Was your previous provider also Comcast?

If so find out if their broadband server has a diffenent web address.

Other than that, I don't know.

I'll call them when I have a couple of hours to spend on the phone. after the move sometime.

I do see an unfamiliar address being sought before Entourage starts in with the errors.

Until 1:00 yesterday, it was Comcast at my old house a couple of miles away. As soon as they installed (transferred( service here---no worky.

Their install software resets all your browser preferences and does who knows the hell what with your system. I just can't find where I can address the server connection problem.

but then I've been alternately moving and taking care of my sick mom for a week now and I'm so tired I'm seeing double. Maybe it'll all "A Ha!" in the morning.
