Can you use off the shelf IDE drives with a Mac G3 Blue & White???
Any help would be appreciated...

1. Yes, but you may need a different IDE controller
Some of those older Macs would only recognize up to 128mg

If I recall correctly, I had three IDE hard drives in my B&W

edited to add: If you want to use modern Serial ATA drives in your old Mac, this card will allow your G3 Blue & White to use big drives: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/ACARD/AEC6290M/
