Shall we go ahead and purchase the "Leopard"
having a six year old G3 iBook, or wait for a few weeks, or months, to see how it performs in the real world?

Not to mention a drop in price. In 1996 I purchased a Performa - the first tower Mac - and after two months the price dropped by $500.

3. OOps, I meant purchasing a new MacBook
with the Leopard.

That purchase was in the planning but decided to wait for the new OS.

I went ahead and replaced my lapop but that is becusae my WIN machine was on its last legs

Not that it will be the dog that Vista still is, but I'd wait for the month of troubles to be over

I don't intend to upgrade for a couple of months, if ever

I'm very happy with tiger

5. Thanks.
I guess in my original post I mixed software and hardware..

We were going to replace the iBook but did not want to later get a new OS.

Your suggestion makes sense, especially since its release was delayed.

8. Leopard was delayed due to the iPhone launch
not because they were having trouble with Leopard.

7. Mine's on order
I can hardly wait. I'm really looking forward to some of the new features!

As far as a price drop is concerned I'll live if the price goes down in a month or two.

13. $9.95?
For a full copy of Leopard? I'm not sure what you mean. Sounds very intriguing.

14. If you buy a new computer after Oct. 1 2007 you qualify for their
Mac up to date program. I bought a Mini last week.

BTW, I love it. My seven year old machine wouldn't have run Leopard.

10. Oh Baby, watch the
guided tour:

Time Machine alone makes it worth it!

12. That guided tour pissed me off.

Because when you've done PC tech support for the last 15 years and you see something this easy, it's maddening.

Computers are SUPPOSED to be usable like they are in that video. But no, I've been wasting my time fixing stuff for years.

My copy of Leopard should be in my hands this weekend.

CAN'T WAIT!

PS: I bought a new HDD to use Time Machine. I am going to use the new HDD as the boot drive, and try to configure the internal (slow) HDD for Time Machine.
