How do I remove a RSS feed from my RSS reader program?
Edited on Tue Feb-01-11 05:58 PM by intheflow
I keep getting a pop-up box from the Ghost of DU3 telling me I need to enter my name and password for the LBN RSS feed. I asked the administrators and Skinner says I need to remove it from my reader. I just have no idea where that is or how to remove the link/feed/whatever it's called. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!
itf :hi:

1. If you subscribed to it using Safari, open Safari, click the open book icon, click
the All RSS Feeds line, select the particular RSS feed, right click it, and select Delete from the resulting menu

2. There are no RSS feeds listed.
I have nothing in there. Earlier today I went into Preferences in Safari and deleted everything out of my RSS. It's still popping up. :( Wondering if I need to empty my cache again and reboot the whole thing for the settings to kick in.

3. First: Are you sure you subscribed using Safari?
Are there any other browsers you might have been using when you subscribed (by accident or otherwise)?

4. I only have Safari on this computer.
I have never subscribed to an RSS feed of any kind on this computer AFAICR, certainly not in the week DU3 was live. I played around pretty extensively in DU3 but don't remember seeing, much less subscribing to, an RSS option.

5. So this RSS feed isn't showing up in your mail program (for example)?
If you're not using RSS feeds at all, you might try

Safari >> Preferences >> RSS and then make sure all automatic update options are unchecked

Another option might be disabling RSS for Safari. Open a terminal and try typing:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSyndicationEnabled 0

7. I'm cautiously optimistic this worked.
I had a "auto update bookmarks bar" box checked, and I had a link to DU3 on there. That must be what did it since it's been over an hour since I unchecked it and so far no pop-up. I'll check again in the morning but so far so good.

Thank you, s4p. I bow to your Mac wisdom.
