big lion headache-email problems.

seems to be some widespread mail headaches in lion. mine was fine at first, then a message here or there started getting stuck going out. it wasn't kicking the outbox, tho, just spinning in send, with no way to dump it or even see what it was.
now i flat out can't send an email. i have taken to saving them as drafts then launching them from the phone. which just shows the lengths i am willing to go to avoid talking to technical service people. googling around i see that it appears to be an f'd up outgoing cache.
sigh. i feel so alone when my email flips out.

followed the instructions in this thread. it is a bit bizarre, but for those of you who know how to use the terminal, it gives you a path tot he offending file. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3229919?start=0&tstart=0

it did not look like it had removed the file, but it apparently did. i couldn't find it when i went in the hard way. this started when i set up a new email, i think, as it was the addy attached to the cache.
