Does anyone like the Ramen Noodles?
I like the noodle packages, but always throw away the flavor packet inside. I like to put a pince of Boullion crystals instead. The noodles are delicious with many things, like canned meats or bacon, but the salt in the flavor packets is really bad.It makes a good dish when you add the cooked noodles to a can of campbells soup.

1. Weight Watchers recipe
The book, IIRC was recipes with two servings. Ramen noodles were added to cooked meat and a bag of prepared coleslaw mix. It's equally as good as a vegetarian meal.

2. Yes! Ramen noodles are your friends!
I love 'em. Make great soups, and also just perfect for making sesame noodles. And, on a cold day, nothing like a bowl of saimin, with some omobake or shiitake or sausages or chicken or bean sprouts or kim chee or, hell, anything you wanna put in it.

And you're right, the flavor packets are utterly loaded with salt. I still eat 'em, but I really should start throwing them and using my good broth mixes.

7. Exactly
Although they're up to 20 cents now, usually. I was making $12,000 a year in my first job, when I moved out of my mom's house, and survived soley on Ramen noodles and pizza slices. I can afford much better now, but often keep a pack or two on hand for old times' sake.

4. I don't like American Ramen.
It's all just salt. But there are a couple of brands we get at the asian market that are incredible.

I should probably just cook them in dashi and miso, but I'm lazy, and since we buy good mixes....

5. There's a Chinese Onion flavor ramen...
...that comes with a separate packet of flavored oil.

Fabulous!

I used to get it at a little neighborhood store in San Francisco, but since I moved away, I can't find it anywhere.

6. Yeah, no flavor packet...
I buy some cilantro, thai chili's and ginger and make my own broth... Then cook the noodles in it. Much better.
