1. Sounds yummy!
We went more traditional but it was yummy as well. Smoked honey ham, au gratin potatoes and fresh green beans. We added some locally baked artisan bread (garlic and onion) and had lots of baked goodies for dessert.

2. Both of your dinners sound great!!
I always make Alaska King Crab for Christmas dinner.. Never ready for turkey just yet (after Thanksgiving), and ham is great.. but MMmmm, King Crab is soooo sweet and always readily available here.

Actually, I steamed both Dungeness crab and King Crab today, but the King Crab was hands down better than the Dungee!

Num!

4. We went to Alamo Drafthouse and watched King Kong and ate pizza.
We also had chips and queso con chili, sangria, or beer. That's my idea of a great Christmas dinner. :D

We've been going to the movies since 2000 when our four kids got into their late teens and early 20s. We spend other days with grandparents and extended family but like to hang out together on Christmas Day.

This is the first year we went to Alamo Drafthouse and I think it's going to be part of the tradition from now on. It's a theater that also serves food and drinks. Each row has a table in front of it and a walkway for the servers so you also have more separation from other viewers.

Unfortunately, our son, who is a home on leave from Japan, got sick and couldn't go with us. He had a temp of 102. :( He's feeling a little better today. Fortunately, he doesn't go back until January 9 so this won't ruin his entire leave -- it's the first we've seen him in 16 months. Our oldest daughter drove in from Denver so we thought we'd all be together but one of my twins went to New Jersey with her boyfriend. Oh, well . . . I'm sure it's going to get harder to get a family of six together every year.
