so the fixings are ready for tomorrow's crock pot
since i get up at 4AM and am out the door by 5:20, using my crock pot takes some planning

so I trimmed and braised a cross rib roast, chopped onion and garlic dumped it on the meat in the crock still raw. Added 2 bay leafs some sweet basil, thyme, parsley, Mrs Dash and pepper. Covered it tightly and stuck it in the fridge.

then scrubbed carrots and potatoes and cut them bite size and have them in water with celery. Put the sliced mushroom box on top of the veggie container in the fridge

tomorrow I'll combine them at 4:30 AM and tum on low and voila'

Yankee Pot Roast ready to eat when we get home at 2 :)

1. Sounds yummy!
I did the same thing last week with "whole cranberry chicken" that I brought to the campus potluck. I was home this morning so I made "red potatoes and ham" in the crockpot. I love using this thing!

I ordered one of the big West Bend slow cookers that someone mentioned in this group but it came broken. Amazon has a great replacement policy, however -- the new one is on its way and the old one has already been picked up by UPS. So in the meantime, I'm using my little 4-quart Rival crockpot and trying new recipes almost every day.

After all these years of not cooking, my husband is loving this! :D
