Anybody have a recipe for Texas caviar?
I started the post for favorite hors d'oeuvre recipes, and I couldn't find mine! All I can remember is that it has black-eyed peas and jalapenos in it...

6. If you like it, post it here!
I need a good Texas Caviar recipe for New Year's Day -- something I can bring with me to the Rose Bowl for good luck! :D

7. I'm not sure when I'll get to try it, but here it is
It SOUNDS like it will be good (and easy)! I'm planning to substitute green chiles for jalapenos, and I think I'll add chopped avacado right before serving.

TEXAS CAVIAR

2 (14 oz.) cans black-eyed peas, drained
1 (14 oz.) can hominy
1 (8 oz.) bottle Italian dressing
2 tomatoes, chopped
6 green onions, chopped
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 green pepper, chopped
2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
1 sm. onion, chopped
1/2 c. parsley, chopped

Combine all ingredients, except the salad dressing; mix well. Pour salad dressing over mixture, then cover and let marinate for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator. Drain mixture and serve with tortilla chips.
