What do ***You*** do when
you run out of salsa before you run out of chips?

I am in the first day of a trip to a time zone that puts my body clock a number of hours off from the clocks on the wall. Dinner (with a bunch of people) is still 2 hours away. So I went for a walk .... had a nice Maduro cigar ..... and bought some organic red hot blue corn chips and some organic peach and mango salsa. Now the salsa's gone but I have chips left.

What would you do?

2. Do you have any refried beans in the house?

Make a warm dip by heating up the beans and adding whatever spice you like such as chile powder and such. This is a good dip when it cools down for raw zucchini spears instead of chips.

Chips go great with plain sour cream, too. But we're cheap dates around here. The s/c can be jazzed up with any Mexican style spices like the chile powder or other Mexican sauces.

I'm talking desperate measures here!

P.S. I often take a canned red salsa and mix in a small amount of brown bean dip. It's pretty tasty. Hubby mixes red salsa with sour cream to smooth it out and stretch it in a pinch.

Edit: I'm sorry - It didn't sink in until now that you weren't home. Doh! You don't have any options, do ya! Enjoy the crispy chips with a beer?
