Browned mashed potatoes.
Edited on Fri Jul-18-08 09:12 PM by pinto
An accidental side dish. I did a skillet steak tonight. Pulled it off and reduced the pan drippings with a can of mushrooms, the juice, a dash of red wine and a dose of garlic powder, figuring to make a gravy. But I really like a naked steak. So I blended the mushroom sauce with sour cream, a little 1/2 and 1/2 and a chock of fresh diced scallions into a couple of boiled potatoes. Not real pretty as far as mashed potatoes go, but plate lickin' good.
